Open Channel Ultrasonic Flow Meter
Ultrasonic open channel Flowmeter is used to measure the flowing liquid in the open channel. It is mainly used to measure sewage plants, sewage discharge outlets of enterprises and institutions, discharge of urban sewers and channels in irrigation and water conservancy.
Because our instrument uses ultrasonic waves through the air, measured by non-contact method, it is more reliable and long-lasting then the contact type Flow Meters; even under the condition of viscous and corrosive liquids.
An ultrasonic open channel flow meter measures water flow by utilizing ultrasonic pulses to determine both the liquid depth and velocity, then calculating the flow rate. The sensor emits sound waves, and the time it takes for these waves to travel to the surface of the water and back determines the water's depth. Additionally, the Doppler effect, where the frequency of the reflected waves shifts due to the water's motion, allows the meter to calculate the flow velocity.
The installation of the Weir trough in the channel produces throttling effect, which makes the flow rate in the open channel have a fixed correspondence with the liquid level. This correspondence mainly depends on the structural size of the Weir trough and reduces the influence of the channel as much as possible.
Commonly used weir channels are right-angle triangular weir, rectangular weir and Barschel trough.
We have two models – for measurement up to 5-meter channel height and for the measurement up to 8-meters channel height.
